Beginnings Organic Baby Clothing and Accessories
Reviewed by Tricia Ballad
Who wouldn’t love knowing her baby was surrounded by only the purest
natural fibers, without any harsh chemical residues? I recently had the opportunity
to try out a selection of Pure Beginnings’ product line with my newborn.
Pure Beginnings offers a line of 100 percent organic cotton baby clothing,
bedding and cloth diapers.
Advantages
So soft! Both the Pure Beginnings blanket and tie kimono are
incredibly soft and cozy, wonderful against delicate newborn skin.
Well made Just by looking at the workmanship,
it’s obvious that these items would be just as beautiful
and comforting for a second or third child.
Breathable Organic cotton is naturally more
breathable than non-organic cotton fabric, due to the lack
of residue from half a dozen different chemicals used in the
farming and processing of the cotton. This means less skin
irritation, heat and diaper rash.
Disadvantages
Burp cloth thickness I found the burp cloth’s
three layers of sherpa cotton too thick to use as a burp cloth,
although it would make a good diaper doubler or changing pad.
Cost Organic clothing, like organic food,
tends to cost more than its mass produced non-organic counterpart,
and this is no exception. In this case, you do get
what you pay for: the security of knowing what’s
not touching your baby’s sensitive skin, and sturdy,
well-made clothing that can be passed down several times over.
Buy It!
