Mama Angel Baby
Herbal Body Care for Mothers and Babies
By Lisa Poisso
Looking for a luxurious
gift for a “crunchy-granola” new mother?
Earth Mama Angel Baby offers certified organic herbal
body care products for mothers and babies. Tasteful presentation
-- even the shipping materials are neat and tidy – and
luscious scents and textures make these products perfect
for gift-giving (or as a special treat for yourself).
Three NFO reviewers found
the Earth Mama Angel Baby products to be natural and
pampering but a bit messy. The teas and many of the bath
products are loose herbs. In your bath, these are messy
and can even stain some tubs; in your tea cup, they require
use of a small cloth bag (included, but difficult and
messy to untie and empty after the first use) or tea
ball. These teas may be too much of a hassle to prepare
and clean up for many new mamas.
Salves such as the Angel
Baby Bottom Balm and Natural Nipple Butter received enthusiastic
responses. The Natural Nipple Butter was the only thing
that helped one nursing mama’s problems with psoriasis,
which she had been struggling with for months. And the
Bottom Balm is useful for scrapes and insect bites, too.
Booby Tubes™ -- circular “beanbags” filled
with fragrant lavender and buckwheat hulls, shaped to
wrap around the breasts inside the bra – can be
stored in the freezer to create cold packs or warmed
in the microwave to ease soreness from engorgement or
mastitis. Our plugged duct-prone tester declared them
a winner for pre-nursing breast warm-ups during a bout
of plugged ducts; she reports she stores hers in her
lingerie drawer, where they give off the fresh, light
scent of lavender.
Earth Mama Angel Baby gift
packs are fun to unwrap – much more like a special
gift than a package from a retail company. Women who
aren’t fully into the whole “natural scene” might
find the loose herbal products a little too messy and
complicated for their tastes, but mothers who enjoy earthier,
organic products will find these a unique, pampering
addition to their body care supplies.
