But I don’t use cloth diapers!
10 Reasons to keep a few cloth
diapers on hand anyway:
1. Emergency stash. It's midnight and your baby just woke
up with a soaking wet diaper; the last one in the house. Take
a screaming baby to the store at midnight, or toss a diaper
in the laundry the next day – cloth gives you the choice.
2. Illness. The only real way to tell if a young baby is getting
enough fluids is by measuring how many diapers they wet. Disposable
diapers disguise wetness, so you may not know how much your
baby really has wet.
3. Illness (again). Chicken Pox, fever rash, or whenever your
baby’s torso and legs are covered in a red, itchy and/or
scabby rash. Paper diapers irritate tender, inflamed skin.
Put him in soft cloth diapers for a few days of comfort.
4. Bad diaper rash. Cloth diapers allow air to circulate to
baby's skin, speeding up the healing process. Many styles of
cloth also wick moisture away from the baby's skin. Cloth diapers
let you know as soon as the baby wets, so you can change them
promptly. Frequent diaper changes are the best way to treat
and prevent diaper rash!
5. Summertime fashion statement. Face it - cloth is just so
darn cute! If your little one is going to be cruising around
in just a diaper during the next heat wave, make it adorable!
6. Make changing time fun. No busy toddler wants to lie still
during a diaper change. Make the inevitable fun! Allow your
toddler to pick out her own diaper and she'll be much more
cooperative.
7. Money's tight this month. We all have those months where
the car needs repaired, gas prices raise as your tank empties,
and you have to buy five separate wedding gifts. Saving $80
on disposables really helps.
8. "Honey, I know there's a blizzard outside (or the
game’s on), but could you go out for diapers?" Enough
said.
9. Potty training. Since your toddler will feel it the instant
they wet a cloth diaper, they will learn to associate the feeling
of wetness with urination - the first step in potty training.

10. Who says it's just a diaper? Cloth diapers are useful
long after your child no longer uses them as diapers. But that's
